The Lush Life

When I walk into a Lush Cosmetics store the only thought that runs through my head is "I’ll take one of each, please." Because, let's be real - if you try Lush, you love Lush. The beauty mecca opened 29 years ago and has, since, built a serious - did I say serious? - cult following, which includes A-list celebrities like Kylie Jenner, Gwyneth Paltrow, Courtney Love, Leonardo Dicaprio, Julia Roberts and Johnny Depp, to name a few.

From its handmade, cruelty-free and natural galactic bath bombs, to its versatile face masks all packaged in Lush's unmistakable trademark black-and-white tubs, there's something about the husband-and-wife–owned brand that hooks its customers for life. Maybe it's the hypnotic scents, the natural formulas or the brand's 100% cruelty-free pledge - they even refuse to buy materials from those who sell to companies that test on animals - but, all of it's customers come to the brand knowing that they can stock up on Lush products that not only look good, but do good - and smell good while they're at it.

My favorite? The bath bomb - it's the bomb dot com. It crackles, it fizzes and it whirls around the tub turning your bath water into a psychedelic blend of colors and scents. The sensory experience is definitely less about function and more about fun; there's something so gratifying about tossing this bomb into your bath and watching your water transform in to a piece of art. But, PSA for all the neat freaks out there - you can expect glitter, rose petals and other festive bomb-infused ingredients to make their way into a tub near you. So be prepared to do a little bit of cleaning afterwards. Cleaning up after a bath, who would of thought? I promise, it's something worth dipping in to.
