3 Ways To Start Your Monday Off Strong

Monday snooze. Monday traffic. Monday emails. Monday to-do list. We’ve all been there and said that. It’s time to paint the Monday blues a different color. Instead of dreading Monday, get ahead of Monday with these three tips.


Life’s not a sprint, it’s a marathon and a marathon takes preparation, determination and passion. However you choose to structure your weekend, dedicate time to preparing to start the work week on a clear and focused note. Supercharge your Sunday by tidying your apartment, stock up your fridge and review your to-do list for the week ahead. And, if you’re anything like me, try to pick out (or at least visualize) what outfit you want to wear the next day. Before you go to bed on Sunday, make sure you know exactly where you're going on Monday morning and what you're going to do when you get there.


Did you know that the word “mon” is French for “mine?” Start thinking of Monday as more of “my day” and it will become a much more promising way to start the week. Go wear something new or dress up, change up your routine, make Monday your cheat day, or plan something to look forward to later in the week. Make yourself number one!


Extend that weekend feeling by doing something weekend-ish today. Skip your workout, go to a happy hour, meet a friend for lunch, go on a date, or to a fun event. Get out of Monday mode before you overdo your efforts and plan something you would normally reserve for weekends. You’ll be happy you did it and, who knows, maybe Monday will become your new favorite day!
